Tesco has increased the interest-free offer on its Clubcard credit card to 12 months, it has announced today.
New customers of the Tesco Clubcard credit card can pay nothing on purchases for 13 months, up from 12 months, the longest zero per cent offer on purchases currently available.
The balance transfer period on the Tesco Clubcard credit card has also been increased, from six months to nine months, with a balance transfer fee of 2.90 per cent, and a typical APR of 16.90 per cent after the introductory offer comes to an end.
Tesco offers its Clubcard credit card customers reward points every time they spend on the card, anywhere in the world.
Cardholders receive one point for every £4 they spend anywhere, in addition to earning standard points when they use it to shop in Tesco stores.
Tesco Clubcard credit card customers also receive a 10 per cent discount on Tesco travel insurance, and do not have to pay a cash advance fee on Tesco Travel Money when they use their card to pay.
Commenting on the offers available with the Clubcard credit card, David McCreadie, commercial banking director at Tesco Bank, said: “Around one in ten credit card purchases in the UK are now made on a Tesco credit card. Our customers tell us that they value earning Clubcard points wherever they use the card.
“By extending our 0% purchase offer, our cardholders will benefit from the longest introductory free purchase offer currently available in the UK as well as earning points whenever they use the card.”
